Crystals for New Beginnings - 2025

Posted by Heather Burket on

The start of a New Year sets us up to make changes. It’s a time of reflection and a time to look ahead at what we want to see in our lives – from our health, our finances, things we want to accomplish, new things to try and places to explore. To me, some years don’t even feel like a New Year, it just feels like a continuation. This year truly feels like the kick-off of the New Year and something to celebrate. Do you feel this way too?

If you are like me and live somewhere where fireworks are allowed, then you may kick off the New Year less than refreshed as these tend to continue way after midnight. For those of us wanting to start the New Year with new habits – it can take a day or two to get into those new habits as getting up early to start that new health routine may be not happening exactly as we planned. Make sure to give yourself grace if that is the case.

I went to an event a few years back and one of the speakers – Venus Williams made a very short but very impactful statement “Discipline is Freedom.” That was such a profound statement to me – so simple, yet it made so much sense. Discipline really is the key to starting anything new and the benefits to those better habits do create freedom – it could be financial freedom, freedom from fears, freedom from being stuck in any area of life. It has to come from an inner desire. I have started to learn about Kabbalah – the esoteric school of thought in Jewish Mysticism. I studied Sufism in my 20s – Islamic mysticism. I’m someone who loves to study and learn all perspectives on various topics. One of the concepts that I’ve come across in Kabbalah is the idea that if you have a desire, it’s because God wants that for you. That is a different perspective of our desires and it almost seems to press the momentum of your desires forward. “Well if God wants it for me, then I will have to get it!” It has created an internal acceptance, a permission slip, if you will, for going forward. Sometimes, all we need is a different outlook to help us shift our perspective and eliminate limiting beliefs.

I remember attending a ceremony in Peru where the shaman kept on adding layers and layers of ceremonial leaves and other items for our intentions. That is how I think of how we create what we desire in our lives. The more that we add to our desires – from releasing limiting beliefs, writing down our desires, visualizing them and using tools to assist us, we can make forward strides in our desires.

Crystals are one such tool that we can use to assist us in our endeavors. Crystals work by emitting energy, that we then begin to resonate with when we are near them (usually at least 3 feet). You can meditate with them or carry/wear them with you during the day.

Some of the behaviors and thought patterns that we have may be hindering us from making forward progress. The crystals listed below can assist us in creating our dream life in 2025.
